Patients Say This Is the Best Vision Plan Provider

Aetna Vision gets top marks as the nation’s best vision plan provider, according to J.D. Power’s 2022 U.S. Vision Plan Satisfaction Study.

In fact, on a 1,000-point scale, Aetna Vision earns an overall customer satisfaction score of 831 in the latest annual survey.

In formulating its rankings, J.D. Power surveyed more than 1,200 vision insurance customers. Overall customer satisfaction with vision insurance providers was based on five factors. In order of importance, they were:

  • Coverage
  • Cost
  • Communications
  • Customer service
  • Claims and reimbursement

Aetna Vision got the highest marks in this year’s survey. Overall, three providers finished with overall customer satisfaction scores that were higher than the industry-wide average of 769:

  • Aetna Vision: 831 out of 1,000 points
  • UnitedHealthcare Vision: 800
  • VSP: 770

The providers that earned below-average scores for overall customer satisfaction were:

  • Davis Vision: 762
  • EyeMed: 756
