PLAY Starts Offering Cheap Fares Out of NYC

PLAY, a low-cost Icelandic air carrier, started flying out of NYC this week. PLAY on Thursday began daily flights to New York Stewart International from Keflavik International. The airline launched its first U.S. flights on April 20, at from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and then Boston on May 11th.

PLAY is the only carrier to operate international flights at New York Stewart, which is located about one hour north of NYC.

There’s also a Graduation Flash Deal sale to celebrate the new route. Through the end of the day today, you can get discounted fares to Iceland and also Berlin (BER), Paris (CDG), Dublin (DUB), and Copenhagen (CPH) for travel between September 3 and November 12 of this year. All Play Airlines flights operate out of New York Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, New York. Prices are advertised as one-way fares for $99-$129.

Here’s the cheapest round-trip that I found, for about $243. You can find round-trip just barely under $300 for other European destinations.

While the price includes your ticket, passengers should make sure to review Play’s baggage policies, as they likely differ from those of bigger carriers. 

Play will also launch Orlando flights starting on October 1st.
