Creating Back to School Meals with Amazon

by Donna Ryder

This post is sponsored by Amazon, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Although my toddler isn’t in a traditional school yet, he does plenty of learning at home and has a full agenda that keeps us ALL active. I’m a firm believer in eating for the lifestyle that you have and the energy that you need. This summer we’ve really focused on enjoying the weather and the moments created outdoors. As a result, we have deviated from our minimally processed, low sugar diet. Now that fall is around the corner, we’re preparing to shift his schedule around the house and get his diet back on track.

Karris has developed more opinions as of late, so in response we have become more creative when it comes to the ingredients we include in his meals. I’m mindful of what our household eats, but especially Karris because we are creating the foundation for his health. What we eat is critical to our health and development, yet approximately 23.5 million people live in food deserts. Given this fact, I’m so happy that families can shop for groceries on @amazon’s online store and pay using a SNAP EBT card. This means healthy and convenient options are available to individuals of all income levels.

It’s no question that grocery delivery is my preferred method of grocery shopping, primarily because it saves me time and money. By using Amazon . com and Amazon Fresh’s grocery offerings, SNAP recipients can enjoy time-saving benefits and receive free and convenient home delivery ( available on qualifying orders ) too.

Our grocery list consists of non-perishable pantry staples from Amazon . com and fresh meats and produce from Amazon Fresh. Here are a few of our current healthy meals in rotation for Karris’s “Back to School” menu:

Lunch 1:

  • Cheese Quesadilla
  • Raw orange and red peppers
  • Blueberries
  • Green Grapes
  • Raw Cashews

Lunch 2:

  • Shredded Baked Chicken
  • Strawberries
  • Hidden Veggies Cheddar Bunnies
  • Raw Spinach
  • Allergen Free Chocolate Chip Cookie (Partake Foods)
